CCTV Policy
Updated November 2024
LCA Operations Pty Limited, Laser Clinics UK Management Ltd, and related entities (LCG), including LCG’s franchisees (Franchisees) use continuous and ongoing closed circuit television (CCTV) systems to view and record at various locations in LCG Clinics premises. This Notice outlines how and why we use CCTV.
Why do we use CCTV?
LCG and Franchisees will view CCTV recordings taken in our Clinics as necessary for ‘legitimate business purposes’, including but not limited to:
• promote the health and safety of staff, customers and visitors, including to act as a deterrent against crime;
• assist in the effective resolution of disputes;
• prevent and detect crime including theft or damage to Clinics; and
• supporting any investigations related to law enforcement.
What information do we collect?
If you enter a LCG Clinic your image may be captured by our CCTV cameras. We do not record any audio (i.e. sounds or conversations).
Our use of CCTV is limited to waiting and reception areas. LCG does not operate CCTV in any treatment rooms, bathrooms, toilets, or changing rooms.
Our CCTV cameras are clearly visible to customers and staff.
Who has access to the footage?
A restricted number of LCG staff and Franchises personnel have the training and permission of our Legal Team to review CCTV footage for limited purposes.
CCTV footage may be shared between LCG entities and between LCG and its Franchisees where necessary for the legitimate business purposes described above. The data is stored in the UK.
CCTV footage may be disclosed to third parties, such as law enforcement, where:
• LCG considers the disclosure reasonably necessary to support LCG or it’s Franchisees’
legitimate business purposes; and
• where approved by LCG's Privacy Officer/Data Protection Officer/Legal Team.
Access to your personal data
You may request access to your personal data, which may include CCTV footage, in accordance with the applicable LCG Privacy Notice or Policy. Please note that we may obscure images of third parties when disclosing CCTV data as part of a request, where we consider it necessary to do so. In rare circumstances, you may also have a legal right to object to processing of your personal data. Further information about your rights can be found in the applicable LCG Privacy Notice or Policy.
Security
LCG and Franchisees use reasonable security safeguards to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, use or disclosure. Our CCTV is maintained on systems that are password protected and access is logged.
LCG retains CCTV vision for 30 days. After that period CCTV vision is automatically deleted unless there has been a valid request from law enforcement or, if you have requested access to your personal data contained in any CCTV vision.
