What to Expect
Laser hair reduction works by using light energy to target hair follicles, reducing regrowth over time. It’s quick, effective, and confidence-boosting.
• Sensation: You might feel a quick, warm flicking sensation (like a rubber band snap). Most areas are well tolerated – and it’s over before you know it!
• Time: Treatments take 15–90 minutes depending on how many areas are being treated.
• Downtime: Minimal. You may notice slight redness or warmth that settles within a few hours.
• Results: You’ll start to notice finer, patchier regrowth after 2–3 sessions. A course of 6–10 sessions, spaced 4–6 weeks apart, is recommended for long-term reduction.
Shave the treatment areas 24 hours prior to the appointment. Shaving is available in clinic for certain areas only (excluding private areas and face) for an additional fee.
No sun exposure two weeks prior to the treatment areas.
Allow 4 weeks prior to your treatment if you have had direct sun exposure. (Any kind of tanning or active sunbathing, with or without SPF).
Allow 2 weeks prior to your treatment if you have had incidental sun exposure (stayed in the shade for the majority of the time during sunny periods, with or without SPF on).
Ensure all fake tan is removed and there is no residual fake tan present on the skin 24 hours before your treatment.
Avoid using topical creams, moisturisers, body oils, colognes or perfumes to the area being treated 24 hours prior to treatment.
Unfortunately, we cannot treat over tattoos with our laser. We can treat around the tattooed areas with a gap of 3cm.
Some medications may make this treatment inadvisable, therefore a complimentary consultation for 1st-time clients is required before booking.

Do not wax, use depilatory creams or pluck hairs four weeks prior to laser treatment.
Depending on the hair, skin type, and body area being treated, you will require treatments at 4-6 weeks intervals. For the facial area, treatments can be done at 2-4 week intervals. Each part of the facial and body area has a different growing cycle, so hair reduction will vary depending on what stage your follicles are in at the time of the treatment.
After each treatment hair is reduced hence it is important to complete the course of 10 treatments and at consistent intervals for best results. We recommend a series of 8-10 treatments and maintenance treatments every 2-3 months for permanent hair reduction.
Temporary side effects may include: redness, itchy skin, mild follicle swelling, irritation on treatment areas. All of which are normal post Laser Hair Removal treatment. It is important to follow the correct prep and aftercare to receive maximum results with minimal side effects to the treatment.
No, unfortunately, we cannot treat over tattoos with our laser. We can treat around the tattooed areas with a gap of 3cm.
Yes - our Laser Hair Removal treatment is safe for individuals on birth control including oral contraceptive pills and IUD.
Based on current medical advice, we are unable to perform laser hair removal during the first trimester of pregnancy. We advise clients in the second or third trimester of pregnancy, to obtain mandatory medical clearance prior to proceeding with treatment.
One of the benefits of Laser Hair Removal is that the treatment is virtually painless, especially compared to waxing. Each pulse lasts less than a second, producing a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, such as the upper lip, it may feel like a rubber band snap on the skin. We use an advanced cooling machine in conjunction with our laser device to reduce the heat sensation on the skin and minimise any discomfort.
Unfortunately, topical numbing creams are not safe nor effective when doing Laser Hair Removal. The sensation you feel in treatment is not felt on the skin, but in the follicle of the hair. Unfortunately numbing cream cannot penetrate deep enough to minimise discomfort that may be felt at the follicle. Please ensure that no occlusive creams are present on the treatment areas when undergoing laser hair removal treatments.
Depending on your hair and skin type and the area being treated, you will usually require treatments at 4-6 week intervals. Each part of the body has a different hair growth cycle, so the hair loss will vary depending on what phase your follicles are in at the time of treatment.
It is recommended to wait at least 24 hours post laser treatment before applying fake tan and 2 weeks for a sun induced tan. This may vary for each individual so always seek guidance from your clinic if you are unsure.
Our Laser Hair Removal technology is safe enough to be used on any part of the body and is suitable for different skin types whilst ensuring maximum results. If you are still unsure if this treatment is right for you, please 'Book a Complimentary Consultation' prior to purchase.
Unfortunately, we can not treat blonde, grey/white and some types of red hair with our Laser Hair Removal treatment. The light of the laser is only attracted to the melanin (pigment) of the hair hence these hair colours cannot be treated.
Our Full Body Laser Hair Removal Treatment includes the whole facial and body area except the head, around the eyes, and eyebrow area.
For 24 -48 hours after the treatment, please avoid excessive sweating, hot showers, shaving, waxing, and plucking the treatment area. For the next 5 days after the treatment, please liberally apply Skinstitut® Laser Aid both morning and evening or as many times as your skin feels sensitive. This will help minimise the heat sensation felt on the skin and reinfuse all the vitamins and natural oils the skin requires after the treatment.
After 5 days, we recommend you exfoliate the treatment area with the Skinstitut® Glycolic 14% scrub to be used 2 to 3 times weekly. This will ensure the hair falls out evenly after the treatment. You will need to ensure all treatment areas are not exposed to direct sunlight for 14 days and apply SPF liberally every day.
